By: The Associated Press 12/31/10 6:44 PM The Associated Press San Francisco authorities say permits that allow entertainment and extended hours for a nightclub in the city's Tenderloin district will remain suspended for most of the weekend. City Attorney Dennis Herrera says a San Francisco Superior Court judge on Friday upheld the Entertainment Commission's 48-hour suspension of the permits for Suite 181. The commission had issued the suspension Thursday after city officials said police had been called to the nightclub 190 times over the past year for shootings, assaults and other incidents. The club's entertainment and extended hours permits had allowed it to provide live entertainment and to stay open until 6 a.m. Lawyers for Suite 181 have told city officials that during the suspension the club will be open until 2 a.m. as a bar only.
by Ryan D. on BEST DOG EVER How I miss this Atlanta institution. And seriously, don't get burgers at a place that is known for their hot dogs. Two chili dogs with cheese and a frosted orange. Your body will hate you but that is the price you have to pay.
by Ethyl Wilebski on I think this is the newest hot spot in the meatpacking district! Once you walk into the restaurant it's a whole other world. It's sleek, sexy, and mysterious. There's a hallway entering the restaurant with statues along the sides. The restaurant is dark with deep colors of red all around. In the center of the restaurant is a huge buddha, surrounded by water. The lounge area is fill with asian brocade inspired beds. Classic New York trendy, hip scene. The food here is amazing. Wonderful selection of starters, sushi and main dishes. All intended to be served family style. We started with the chicken samosoas served with cilantro yogurt sauce.. They were light and delicious.. and then we had the ahi tuna sashimi salad. Very fresh and light. For our mains, we had the plum braised short ribs with yam au gratin. Meat was SO tender and moist. The yams were so unique and rich. Next we had the miso sablefish. Never heard of this fish before, but it was a fish similar to black cod. Very soft and smooth. It was served over a patty of sticky rice. The crunchy texture of the rice was wonderful. Our last dish was the sesame crunchy salmon. I loved this fish too. Dessert was fabulous. We had the warm fudge chocolate cake with ice cream and I was in heaven. The perfect molten chocolate cake. We also had the panna cotta with lemongrass flavor. It was good, but I didn't think it was silky enough. Drinks were fabulous... Lychee drink is a must...
