I come here with friends on Wednesday night for Latin Night. I usually try to get in before 10 (complimentary valet and free entry). Also, from 9-10 they offer free dance classes - salsa and bachata. There is usually a good mix of people that come to these classes. Ladies, you don't have to worry about dancing with each other. There are plenty of men to lead us. Yay!! I really enjoy the music selection as well as the occasional live band. The only two things that disappoint me about Tongue and Groove is the bar in the middle of the main dance floor. It encourages a lot of traffic throughout the room and is not helpful to those dancing. Also, the smoke is a turn off. I am not a big fan of smelling like an ash tray. All this aside, I will say that I am not turned off enough to not return.

The party really doesn't start until 11:30, but when it does, it's HOT. Dragon is the only place where I find the bartenders to be attractive. Matt (downstairs) is cute and friendly! The music is great of course with PKDJ and the House music downstairs is.. um interesting. I'm not a fan. The drinks are strong and the people are friendly. I often go to see old college friends and the general gay asian community of the bay. People travel to get here (San Jose, Davis) because really... it's home.

If you want to get gussied up and be "seen", Cielo isn't necessarily your best bet. There are many more fitting institutions in the immediate Meatpacking vicinity to grace your presence with. So why Cielo? Certainly not to check out your cool outfit. We're here for the MUSIC. So skip the attitude, stop preening, and just allow yourself to be immersed in the music. The water's nice. Jump in. And go to this small Meatpacking club on a Monday night for Deep Space and your soul will be transformed. Just trust me on this.
