Meh. Wasn't too impressed. Came here one Saturday night expecting something way better than I got. The dance floor was filled with creepers and all the cuties were hanging with their girlfriends or looking angry and unapproachable at the bar. The music was ok. The Michael Jackson and Prince were a wonderful switch-up. The drinks were meh. My group ended up leaving around 12 or so to find a better place. Probably won't come back for the dancing. Maybe for the food just to see if it's any good.

If you're ever bored on a Sunday night in NYC be sure to come to GoldBar to check out the show. As my good friend says: Only the freaks come out on Sunday. Be ready to get your "WTF" face on once you're past the ropes because as a person who does not go out often on a Sunday, I felt like I was in the twilight zone - in a good way of course! Tons of scenesters on drugs partying til the early morning hours makes for a funny story to tell your friends the next day.

I came on a Thursday night. The interior and layout were nice and modern. There's a comfy couch area, cushy bar stools, a good-sized dance floor, and 2 unisex bathrooms. The bar itself runs almost the whole length of the space. The bartenders were attentive and poured good strength drinks. It cost $7 for a Ketel One and soda, not including tip--a normal price these days, unfortunately. The neighborhood isn't my ideal (Mission St. between 9th and 10th) but atleast it's only a block and a half from BART Civic Center. And I liked how the DJ mixed up the music between pop, house, and other styles.
