by Kris K. on This place has a cool feel and that's about it. As for the staff, I'm convinced that they have to take an apathy test and score very high on it in order to obtain employment. The two times my wife and I have been there it's the staff that's ruined it both times. One snarky bartender in particular. He's 4 ft tall, shaved head and half finished tattoo sleeve. If you have a question, you'll get a smart ass answer. If you order a drink, he'll sit on his phone or bother other staff before he takes the 20 seconds required to pour tequila and mixer in a glass. I'm convinced he's the loser son of the owners of this place. Other than that, the crowd is cool, the patio spacious, the music good. Just don't expect much in the way of customer service, you'd have better luck with a paraplegic waiting on you than with any of the actors, models or musicians that are working here until they "make it."
by J P. on I wasn't impressed with this place. We sat upstairs and contrary to what others have said the décor is horrendous. Downstairs looked a lot cooler but it's more of a bar from what I could tell. The food? Ok but won't be rushing back anytime soon.
by Stephan Starbird on I wondered before why everybody didn't come here early to eat and avoid the $20 cover. Well, I finally tried it and the food wasn't very good - burned stakes, boring sauces etc. As a nightclub, Bongos is a really beautiful place with large indoor dance floor and huge patio. Girls, salsa, great views to the Biscayne Bay - this is what Miami is all about!
