by Rachel H. on Perks: Food was GREAT, really it was. Downside: If I'm going to spend $100 (disclaimer: I had a $25 for $50 coupon, and still felt this way), I'd like to be full.... Foodwise, the mussles and chorizo mac and cheese were especially nice - we also got the scallops (2 scallops for $14) and the ahi tuna, which were both good but for price + portion were not stellar. We also had two drinks and a flight of tequila. The atmosphere was a little over well-lit for such a fancy place and the waitress was somewhat unfriendly. And like I said, the plates were smaller than tapas I've had at that price - I'd like to see more options overall, but more at the under $10 range if a table of two is going to get 5 or 6. So overall, it was good - Kokopelli would have gotten a 3 but the food taste and quality brought it up to a 4.
by Maureen M. on Damn another good time had at the Mezzanine! Came for Mos but in addition I got: Supernatural Dave Chappelle (They are SO BFF's - Dave and Mos) Goapele Dead Prez Mos Def SIIIIICK! (judging by last nights performance- I can't wait for his new album to be released!) Note to self the best view all night was stage right, past the bathrooms. I've also seen Common here too!
by Lenard Niskala on I saw Wolf Parade here and I just couldn't really dig the place. I mean, the sound was okay, it's got a good size, but I just thought it was so-so. Plus, some idiot muv'fucka threw something and it hit me in the back of the head. It didn't hurt or anything, but it's just not cool.
