by Carlene Sugahara on I would have normally given at least one more star, however, and I can see this seems to be the norm, our reservations were once again messed up. I always book directly through the hotel in order to make sure that I do indeed have a room and any special requests are known. As it happened once again, even though I had made the reservation months ago, the front desk did not show the reservation that I had made and then said they were totally sold out for the night. At that point they had a suite available but I would have to pay extra. At that point our luggage was already in and the car parked. We stayed. My original request that I not be next to a service elevator (like I had last time) went unheard. The air conditioning was so loud all night and the elevator ran up and down very early. The suite was very nice and housekeeping staff was great. On the upside: Valet staff - excellent Front desk staff: even though my reservation was a mess they were helpful and polite. Pool staff: not so much Tropicana Bar staff: efficient and accommodating 25Degrees - always great Not a place for family with young children even teenagers without supervision Location is good for sites and shopping Pool is a little racy for my taste during the weekends... Not so sure I won't try another hotel next time in the LA area...
