Perhaps one of the most Manhattanesque Lounges in Queens after-hours. When we say after-hours, we literally mean after 11 p.m. because that is when all of the fun starts. Sidetracks has been in existence since the World War II days as a hub aside the IRT 7 Line in Queens. In those days, the land was not as developed as it is today. During the day it is your typical restaurant. The place was recently renovated from its railroad inspired design, to a more contemporary affair. Both designs work. Its highlight is its dance floor, which is tucked away on the left side of the venue. Typical music is Top 40, lots of dance, along with occasional Latin and Caribbean numbers. The crowd is mixed. The staff (bartenders) have been there for a long time and will recognize your face if you are regular. If you are a frequent visitor, expect the "Sidetracks card" giving you discounts at the door and drink specials. This is my absolute favorite place. It is a great spot to visit with friends or alone. It is also an awesome place for singles. I have been coming here for 10 years and never get tired of this place. I am in my Early 30s and the crowd ranges from Early 20s affluent to late 30s. Cell Phone service is awesome! I can visit Give Me Apps ( http://www.givemeapps.com)! Mobile phone signals amount from 8 to 10 on a scale of 1 to 10 in case that person you are sharing a drink with is boring you out of your mind. I hope you all enjoy Sidetracks as much as we did. Outer borough venues like this would include Remy's in Brooklyn, MiGente in the Bronx and Vudu Lounge in Manhattan.

I am almost fully in love with bootie. Almost. The music is AWESOME. The free CD is AWESOME. The shows are AWESOME. No one cares how you dance, look, or how drunk and clumsy bumping into everyone you might be. However... It's pricey, the music is WAY too loud to ever meet anyone here, and if you have musician friends like mine they will all tell you "mash ups are weird and ruin the artist's concept" and as a result you'll be stuck going by yourself. Go anyway, by yourself, and when you see me, say hi. I'll reply by saying "what?!" and "huh?" and then we'll give up on communicating and dance our asses off.

Supperclub's never appealed to me. It struck me as a glitz over substance sort of place and given that I'm about food not flash; I've had no interest in patronizing it. However, when a friend invited me recently for cocktails to celebrate her birthday, I accepted. I figured since she'd reserved a private room (on a weeknight) it would be a fairly manageable experience. We arrived even before the birthday girl, ordered a couple drinks and made ourselves comfortable in "bed". Along with the birthday girl came the arrival of passed hors d'oeuvres - oysters, mini grilled cheese sandwiches with tiny cups of tomato soup and truffle popcorn. Talk about decadent, grown-up treats - and all were quite tasty to boot! I'm still not likely to choose Supperclub for a night out on the town, but my recent experience there definitely left a good impression.
