by Moe T. on I checked out Rock Box when I was back in Seattle for the holidays. My friends and I had a great time! There were lots of songs to choose from and easy to queue up (once people broke out of their shells). The place was really nice and comfortable and not cheesy. Totally fun group night.
by Adam D. on A group of 9 of us showed up at 10pm thinking, oh it's late, getting seated shouldn't be a problem. Trudy's is a pretty big place, but it was also packed the entire time I was there -- and the people working at the front didn't seem to know what to do with so many people. Trudy's is the kind of place where they bring out a sizzling plate, and the bowl of fajita mix separately. Like a drunken magician, they combine the two just before serving -- so that if you're unlucky, you see this happening. It's like learning how the magician hides a rabbit in his top hat.. Anyway, that's the kind of place Trudy's is. The food was good enough. Don't go if you like magic.
by Charis Keebler on Wow...Sabina there seemed to have gotten lucky cuz my experiences with the Improv have run the spectrum. I really should give it 3.5 or 4 stars but my gut is making me lean to the 3. In terms of the entertainment value...depending on which night you choose to attend...the club can go from 3-5 stars. I went one time and Dane Cook made a surpise visit...which was FAB!! I went last night to see a friend (who was FANTASTIC by the way and i'm not a biased friend)...he was great and like one other guy was pretty hilarious as well as one young lady. The others...well...it was a Sunday. lol So we'll say an average of a 4 for entertainment. Regarding food/drink minimum crap...they get the 3 and maybe a 2.5. For starters...we paid the $13 to get in and then they had us stand in line outside (didn't feel like letting us in for drinks beforehand grrr). When we finally got inside, they ushered us to a table we didn't want to be at (we wanted to be able to slip out after our friend on account of it being a 'school night') and then, even tho I wasn't drinking, they charged my about $10 for TWO bottles of water. The waitress was a tad annoying...we were at a table that held about 15 even tho we were only 3...and she wouldn't split the check! So we had to figure out OUR portion on the bill amongst strangers' stuff. Silly. We got calimari...good texture, no taste...AND...both my boyfriend and I were up all night with bellyaches! lol So go for the laughs but eat beforehand.
