Pinch me! I think I'm dreaming.... As soon as we were seated, our server, Tim, asked if anyone had any food allergies. My husband and brother simultaneously looked at me so I fessed up about the gluten intolerance. I had planned on getting a large salad. However, Tim informed us that they had two personal chefs with a separate kitchen who did nothing but create dishes for those of us with food afflictions. Wow. Wow. Wow. Soon, Shaun, my personal chef for the moment, trotted out in his chef jacket to discuss my options. We decided on Shrimp Scampi with a pasta made out of corn. Corn? Seriously? I was slightly skeptical about eating corn pasta but I decided to go ahead with Shaun's encouragement. It was spectacular with a texture more like real pasta. The Mister dined on beautiful lamb medallions that arrived on a long skewer with roasted potatoes and fennel sausage. I was granted a taste of every delicious element of his meal. My brother enjoyed a giant bowl of shrimp and garlic with spaghetti. For an appetizer we had the Barb's Spinach and Artichoke al Forno that arrived in a hefty dish overflowing with large chunks of artichokes, asiago cheese and fresh chopped spinach. The restaurant ambiance is perfect for Italian food. Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin sing songs from the 40's and 50's and dark wood furnishings, leather seating, framed black and white photos and glowing candles impart a comfortable yet sophisticated quality. The setting is perfect for lingering over drinks after your meal. I could have done that except that I was so excited with the gluten free pasta I forgot to order one. I held back on a star because the service is a little bumpy. We were served bread but no balsamic and olive oil until we asked for it. My tea glass sat empty for a while after requesting a refill. After Shaun took my order, the guys had to wait a while until Tim returned for theirs. But it's new and they are still working out some kinks. I will definitely return because I believe this restaurant will eventually be a 5 star experience for me.

Being a tourist, I was told about this place and thought it would be real cheesy. I had a great time, fantastic music, good crowd and a staff that is all about a good time. The staff is pretty much scantily clad as you would expect from Miami. They charged $10 cover Saturday night and stay open closer to 4AM. Drinks weren't too expensive and the party was rocking!
