by Di P. on You can't hate on this place. Mostly, if you love a burger, you're going to like this place guaranteed. But then again, a good cheeseburger warms my heart just as much as a perfectly timed mojito. I had the Dallas Burger and honestly it's been a long time since I've ordered a burger "medium rare" and truly got it medium rare. That makes me smile right off the bat. The jalapeno sauce they have has even made me want to go home and replicate. That's the when a restaurant goes from a 3 to a 4 star-- if it makes me want to go home and duplicate. Afterall, imitation is the highest form of flattery. I could do without the ostentatious 45 minute line (and that was during a line that was just barely out the door). They have two cash registers. Use 'em, people.
by Willard Slinker on Bare bones architecture and decor provides a perfect backdrop for hipsters to show off their posh duds. It also seems to enable drinking and conversation-- something has to fill up the void! It helps that the drink list, while pricey, is carefully selected, and cocktails are pretty damn good. (But could you please stop putting the equivalent of 2 whole limes in the mojitos? Thank you.) This bar gets some great DJ acts, although I've been there to witness a few real duds (something like "eclectic and 80s"??). Sadly the atmosphere is often a little too cooler-than-thou to support uninhibited dancing, but some friends of mine did roll their bench-on-wheels over to another table one time. I haven't tried the nibbles here but they look good, all miniature-sized but good. My friends say they're not bad.
