by Delorse Nakagawa on Martuni's... the best single word to describe this place is "fabulous!" Awesome people-watching and delicious (yet surreptitiously strong) martinis. Major props to the pianists, who are gracious and always humor me and my need to sing. It's one of the more appreciative audiences, as well... Skip, the owner, takes great care of everyone. You can order drinks at the bar or get table service. A fantastic institution in the hip Deco Ghetto neighborhood.
by Sarah G. on this is a great neighborhood spot for an after work drink that may lead into dinner as so many after work drinks do... from the outside it looks like a dive and we prefer it that way so it doesn't become a scene, right? but inside it is clean and warm and even has white table cloths. what i love about this place is that it is comfortable and dim and quiet (unless you're there when there is live music) and they serve great burgers and garlic bread and other delicious fried bar-food. i personally prefer to skip the live acts but if you loved the band playing i guess it would be a nice place to see a show, small and intimate.
