I threw a dinner party at this restaurant and had made reservations a month in advance. The hostess at the time told me that there was a prefixed menu at $25/pp and had faxed me a copy of the menu. A month later, April 26th, I had arrived with my guests to the restaurant and was seated promptly. We were given regular menues in which I questioned about the prefixed menu. They then told me that the menu had been cancelled because they were not making money to cover the meal costs. I was furious. I asked what they would be able to do for me because they never called or told me about the change. They said that they would be able to still have the prefixed menu at a cost of $30, which they later lowered to $28. The service was slow as the night progressed, but the waiters were nice, telling us that we were a great table...supposedly because none of us had complained. At the end of the night, the waiter came with the check and said that they had lowered the price from $28 to the regular price of $25 because our table was so great. When we had arrived earlier in the evening, the valet parking's sign said $3...but when we left after the club, they said that the price of the valet had changed to $10...which I thought was rediculous because there was nothing that had said that the price would change in the course of the night. The valet people, took forever and never brought us our car after 25-30 min of waiting...in which I got upset and decided to just get the keys and get the cars ourselves. All in all, I thought the place was beautiful with it's lounge and outside seating areas. The appetizers were good, the main meal was ok, and the desert wasn't that great, except for the Lemon Meringue Pie. I would say just to go to this place for the atmosphere and drinks, but as for the service and food...I really wouldn't go back for it. If the valet didn't turn out as bad as it did, I would definitely go back, but at this point, I don't think I'll go back for a very....very....long time.

Vertigo is so much fun!! So far, after a few nights out there, I got a solicitous warning from the cops, rediscovered my infatuation for an on-and-off crush, and danced the night away in grand asshole style. There is just something in the air at this place (or you can credit the very strong and potent drinks!)
