by Cassandra D. on Alex Bugnon was playing at Sambuca Sunday nite. I like Alex wanted to experience Sambuca --- PERFECT opportunity. Combination did not go so great. Pulled in to what was labeled valet park, I asked "how much is valet?" It depends on how far you want to walk to your car after leaving. WOW this is the new age valet. Reservation went well. Ordered a cocktail that was perfect. Food left a lot to be desired. I had Calamari Fritti for an appetizer and it was very bland. For main course I tried Prime Pork Chop topped with whole grain mustard sauce, served with spaghetti squash cakes & sweet red pepper chutney. The pork chop was very tender but I did not like the spaghetti squash. Maybe it has to grow on you. I thought the desert was excellent, fried cheese cake with a scoop of ice cream. The presentation of the food was better than the food itself. If I visited Sambuca again I think it would only be to enjoy the music and to have drinks.
by Raleigh Pickens on I've only gone on Thursdays for 1984 night filled with 80s music. It would probably be a lot more fun if it wasn't packed with people who are either 1) unaware that it's not 1984 still or 2) college kids who weren't even born before or during 1984. The people who fall into type 1, yeah it's nice to be nostalgic now and then but ummmm, when you get that into it, it's a little bit sad, and when I say a little I mean a lot. And the people who fall into type 2 are just generally annoying. Nuff said.
