Music was good in the latin room. Fine in the main room. Bathroom was decently clean which is always a good thing at a club. And all the other reviews seem to capture the essence of the place. So I'll just leave it at that.

First and foremost, know that Mexican Village has THE BEST guacamole in Los Angeles, and is certainly a contender for best fresh salsa, as well. The portion of salsa that they bring out is quite larger than what you get at most other Mexican eateries, which is great; though it's free either way, it makes the dining process of eating quite more efficient. The atmosphere is pleasant; it is more upscale than most other Mexican restaurants, and the waiters are friendly and attentive. There is generally a nice fellow who will go around offering to sell a rose to give to your S.O., and on Fridays the place is a somewhat lively club replete with salsa dancing, as well as a restaurant; this makes for a fun time, but, it is QUITE loud. A couple times when I went there, the woman who owns the restaurant, who is a very friendly older Mexican lady, was sitting next to us and asked us how we liked the food; when we told her how much we loved the guacamole, she had them bring more out for us. How cool is that?? Drinks are good, and the food itself is quite good, though much of it are slightly more ornate interpretations of somewhat standard Mexican food: tacos, burritos, taquitos, etc. Their guacamole salad is AWESOME as one could assume after realizing how completely killer their guac is. The desserts are awesome as well, particularly the rum flan, which is, of course, lit on fire in a pleasant little display at the table. So if you find yourself in the Mid Wilshire/SIlverlake/Koreatown/Downtown area, consider this place to take either your significant other for a more romantic burrito, or a goup of friends to prove that there is, indeed, upscale Mexican food in Rampart Division. It's a couple blocks East of Vermont off of Beverly.
