I came here for the first time for 'The Society' event which happens every fourth Saturday of the month. The lounge is located in an industrial part of the city overlooking Downtown Los Angeles. There was plenty of free parking near the venue and when we got to the door around 10 PM there wasn't any line. When you get in, the place instantly strikes you as Bladesque. The whole room is darkly lit in a red tint with Rococo style chandeliers hanging from the roof. The place is more geared towards fostering a mingling atmosphere since there is as much space to lounge around t and talk than there is space to dance. The music was really repetitive with a mix of lyricless electronic beats and a couple of old 80s beats interspersed throughout the playlist. Around midnight or so, the stage was lit for a few performances. The first was a flexible duo, showing off their balancing acts. Some would be impressed by the duo's muscular physique and likewise their tight, tight silver spandex shorts. (I wasn't impressed.) The other acts were comparably interesting. I don't want to ruin the surprise. Overall, I had an okay time. The place wasn't too crowded and the drinks were moderately below the Los Angeles lounge/ bar/ club average. If I had known what I was getting into, I might of had a better time, so my three stars rating is definitely biased on my preference. In the future, when I go to a regular night, I'll be sure to revise my rating.

Mixed review for dinner downstairs. Small very small dining area -- I think there were only 2 small round tables for party of 2; the rest (3-4 booths and 2 long dining tables for a party of 6 or more) ... see how small it is that I can actually remember some type of seating arrangement?!! ha (ok they put all the small tables together to make the long tables but still small dining area) Cool decor but kinda weird vibe (maybe it was just me) .. For some reason, it was as if I felt like being in a reality tv show and the staff appeared to be new bcuz they "hovered" .. I mean there was no action going on at all ... and most seem to flutter towards by the kitchen door/into their coat room where you could see a few of them "peeking in" thru the sheer curtains ??? It just felt "fake" .. I gave this place 3 stars bcuz the food was not bad, service was good bcuz it was small (haha), and it was a nice convenient location for for me and the hubby to go to right after work.
