Before heading to Maggianos you better starve yourself all day. Seriously. Its not the typical Italian restaurant. If you have a large party, they ask you order "family style". Be prepared. You were warned, they mean business. First they bring out your apps and there's 3 or so of those on the family style. Then they bring out main courses, then dessert. Did I mention they keep refilling every dish? EVERY DISH! Its absolutely insane! No matter how big or small you were when you walked in, you will be rolling out of this place. It doesn't help that the food is flavorful and cooked to perfection either. Italian food isn't my favorite and that's because its hard to find good Italian food, but this place has it. We had a party of 15 and never had to wait for more food or to have our drinks refilled. I've never had calamari that was so tender and tasty and Ive had calamari plenty of times. The creme brulee was heavenly ! I could go on and on and list all the food that made its way to our table, but I don't have enough time. I don't have one complaint. Here's a tip though....go online and read the menu and if you plan on doing family style-preorder. We did and that made is super convenient when we got seated.

All I can say is it's a hot oily mess! This Atlanta drive in tradition is thought of as being a great fast food but my encounter at The Varsity was horrific. The fries just loaded with oil and I will never eat them again, this coming from a French fry lover. The burgers are okay as well as the milk shakes. Maybe I just went on a bad day; if you go hopefully your experience will be better. There are several locations in the city.
