by Kacey Glenna on Last night was my second experience with the restaurant, and bottom line, they've got good food. I've been looking for a place to get late-night pizza, and although I can't really consider 10pm late-night, I had an amazing spinach and ricotta pizza last night. It was a good size, not overpriced, and I enjoyed the garlic powder they sprinkle on the crust. I've also been there for a sit-down dinner, and wasn't overly impressed with the service, but the pasta was good. I'll be back.
by Deb I. on Slide is never the same place twice. Virgin Encounter: Friday night, friend's birthday party, booked the two large booths facing the dance floor. Music is funky (mix of hits from the 80's, 90's and today) in a cheesy way that I was definitely feeling that night (freeflowing bottles of Grey Goose and numerous patron shots with the b-day girl might have helped). Had the best time ever and the cheesy music was conducive to playful and silly dancing. Loved it. 5 stars. Second time around: third stop on our night on the town, also a Friday night. Line was insanely long, but some random older guy (40's?) sees us and takes us in. He and the bouncer obviously know each other because as soon as he walks up, the bouncer removes the velvet rope. He buys us a bottle of Veuve Cliquot, which only two of us drink from, one glass each. The two of us who drank it have no recollection of anything afterward, and started passing out about 45 minutes later. The two who didn't drink were fine and made sure we got into our own beds safe and sound. We think we may have been roofied. Scawy. -1000000 stars. Third visit: Saturday night, around 11 pm. Line is long, but since it's three girls, we walk up to the bouncer and he let's us in. Crowd is looking very Marina-ish today, a couple bachelorette parties. My friend wasn't feeling it, so we left after half an hour. I wouldn't have minded staying though - the crowd was definitely having a good time. It's also the first time I've been to Slide relatively sober so I actually saw the slide and the decor. Nice. 3 stars. I'm told that Slide's policy facilitates entrance if there is a fairly even girl-to-guy ratio.
