I've been to no other festival like Movement Play! The small scale of it makes it such a sweet and special gathering. The people who come are down to earth and love to have fun, and many are very talented in various movement arts. There is always great music and never a dull moment. It's absolutely a nourishing and relaxing weekend too. I met some wonderful people while volunteering on a kitchen shift, enjoying coffee in the sunshine in the morning, and just lounging on the lawn. There were some awesome hoop & staff performances in the evening, and Beats Antique and Zoe were amazing!

El Rio made for a great introduction as I was planning to move to SF. I went with my bf and his friend. While we were chilling on the outdoor patio, a brawl broke out in front of us. There was broken glass thrown around and the instigator of the fight attempted to hit on me even though my bf was conspicuously right by my side. It was scary/hilarious, but we left moments after the brawl broke out.
