by Cameron Tayag on This place is just boring. The staff is attractive, but not friendly or outgoing, kind of snobby like Scottsdale. You have to line up so the bouncers can pretend it's really busy but then you get in and it's dead. There is no dance floor, band, karaoke, large TVs, or anything special. Everyone just kind of stands around and picks their nose. Pretty boring. I call it McFaggens.
by Elton Wedemeyer on I've concluded all clubs are total hit or miss, and Hiro is no exception. I've been coming here for a while now, and the experience is different every time. Friday night is predominately Asian, and Saturday's are mix crowd. -- I like Sat a lot more! Cover is 20, but you can get yourself on a guest list for reduce cover. -- (Google is your friend, so look it up) The line is always a hassle. The door guys are usually pretty cool about the guy/ girl ratio BS if you're there before 12, but lately, that doesn't seem to be the case. The last time I came, we had 5 guys and 3 girls and were denied entry and we're there around 11:15. It was raining and we're pissed off and ended up going to The Park, which was no hassle at all. The layout is one giant box, with bottle service seating dead smack in the middle which takes up a lot of the floor space, though there's still a decent amount of space left on the dance floor. There's a stage to the side where the DJ mixes his jam. The music is a def hit or miss, and do they have to play Journey every 2 hour? It's getting a tad bit lame. Oh yeah, there's 2 acrobat flying around which takes attention away from the boring night. The bar moves fast which I appreciate. Only Japanese import beers and nothing else, but I grew to appreciate Sapporo. At least it's always ice cold!!! So, the next time you go and you're denied entry, just walk around the corner and go to the Park. It's no cover, and I'm sure you're not missing anything at Hiro!
by Shane P. on Had a great time with two of my girls. Walking into this place, you feel as if you're on an Island Paradise. The world of SF leaves not only your sight, but also your mind. The music was old school hip hop with some island flavor mixed in. The crowd was very "Mission" and unpretentious. Check it out...you'll be glad you did!
