by Stacia Britto on I was supposed to attend a holiday party here and it was cancelled with no clear reason from the owners/manager of the place - who I heard confirmed the plan earlier in the day. Not the most professional approach to the holiday season. Communication and hospitality are crucial for event planning - unfortunately I cannot vouch for either for Project One. I hope they improve on this as I know that there are a fair amount of frustrated people out ther who expected a much more festive evening when they showed up to learn that nobody was home.
by Hyon Hooley on Went here for the first time last night and I just fell in love with the place! It's dark and cozy, but what sold me was the outdoor patio area. It's reminiscent of a back alley in New Orleans! I loved it! Plus, the smell wafting over from the Korean bbq place next door is amazing! Unfortunately, didn't stay long enough to see the jazz band that was setting up, but I will definitely go back for that! Also, met one of the owners (who is super cute!) and he made it sound like a great place to spend your entire weekend, from the packed crowds to jazz music to free bbq on Sundays! Of course, it's more expensive than drinking in the Valley, but I think it's worth it and I think I found my new favorite bar!
by Sab L. on This is definitely one of the classier clubs in the city. The inside is swank and dim, with huge leather booths near the dance floor and smaller tables more behind the bar. I can't comment on the crowd~ I was focusing on my friends~ other than to say it was mixed and seemed fairly well-dressed. To address the problems mentioned by other reviewers... ~ Guys, you might be whining about the 1:1 ratio they enforce, but I KNOW you're glad when you get inside and it isn't a total sausage fest. ~ Considering how small Slide is, it's probably necessary to keep a great deal of people waiting outside to prevent the club from filling to over-capacity. Come early or... get bottle service. ~ If you want to have a place to sit down... get bottle service. I actually don't know of many clubs which provide seats for non-VIP guests. ~ If you don't want to wait for a long time at the bar... get bottle service. It's hard to get to the bar at most popular clubs I've been to; Slide isn't unique in this respect. The verdict: Get bottle service and have a good time. The only things I really didn't care for were (a) the music (too much house, not enough hip-hop), and (b) if you go outside there's the risk that they won't let you back in again (it happened to one of my friends).
