by Willodean Degidio on Everytime I go by Clooney's, I have this image of George at the bar with his pals knocking back a few. Then I go in and am startlingly reminded that this is quite possibly the last place George Clooney would visit in San Francisco. It's a true dive, and on the last three visits I've been inside, a fight has broken out, or at least a drunken shouting match. The horsehoe shaped bar allows for easy viewing of all the patrons, I like that, easier to watch your back. For the 20 hours that you can legally serve alcohol in this city, Clooney's is probably the only place I can think of that takes advantage of this law. If you were a real hipster, you'd be here, but chances are you're down at Cassanova just playing the part. Hey, nothing wrong with that, just the way it is. The drinks are strong and again, on the occasions I've been here, after a few rounds, the bartender on duty actually bought be a round. The buyback lives!
