by marty b. on Meh/Eek! borderline given my last experience there. I've been a few times now, most recently about a week ago, and I don't know what it was but the vibe has changed since the last time I was at Coda (winter-time). I've worked front of house in different restaurants- serving, hosting bussing and bar-backing, and I could tell from the moment my girlfriend and I walked in, we could just tell they didn't have it together. At first I wrote it off to a bad night, because all restaurants have bad nights, but the mood felt abrasive and other repeat customers seemed to share the same sentiments. Restaurant employees should work as a team, and I just didn't get that feel. Next time I'm in the area, I think I may just spend half the money, save the agony and go to Zeitgeist. One- star may see a little harsh, especially since the food was good (I hope they never pull the Coffee/Jameson/Pork off the menu!), but I'd rather not support a business that, unless they're brand new to the scene, doesn't have the kinks worked out.
by Ernesto Mathery on Fun times. We had a team-building event here (apparently the best way to build a team is to get them drunk and let them bowl, and I am not complaining, I feel like a good embarrassing game of bowling is precisely the way to make me a team player!) and it was a lot of fun. The music was pumpin, the pitchers of beer were flowin, and the food was...err..one star off. A little pricey to just show up here, but still a good time to be had.
