by Dean H. on Why three stars? Great food, nice environment during the early evening, and good drinks. It used to be a high end lounge. Not anymore. Remove cover charges, lower the music volume a notch late night so people can communicate without having to yell, work on customer service, and Saint will return to the high end lounge it once was. Unfortunately, these places are all about profit, so this is unlikely to happen. Be ready to pay 5 star prices at a 3 star establishment.
by Josefine Prusha on I have to admit, I was rejected from Jake's Dilemma back when my ID said Michigan and was manufactured somewhere below 14th Street. It was the ONLY bar I'd been rejected from on account of that horrid fake ID. I guess that whole experience made me think Jake's was cooler than it was, but mann was I disappointed when I finally went back. For a dive bar, it's nice. For a nice bar, it's kind of dumpy. I don't think Jake's knows which category it's in. And I can honestly say that I'm pretty confused as well. Regardless, its a laid back good time, but one I wouldn't go out of my way for.
