This place is cool if you feel like hearing mainstream music and getting your dancing shoes on. They have performances occasionally - last week we saw MIMS who was really fun but it made the place unbearably crowded, pushy and rude. Later in the night as I let my feet rest I noticed how dirty it looked with all of the old gum on the carpet and people making out. Its definitely one of the largest clubs on the block and it comes with all of the big club pitfalls. Four stars because sometimes you just want to go to the regular happening spot to dance without worrying about being able to get in and its something worth going to once.

I had a salsa addiction. (note I was not a salsaholic - Thanks, Gavin, for the verbage) Cocomo's was my fix. Two, sometimes three, times a week I'd come here for a spin around the floor. I was known by one and all and had the banter and got the discounts. The lessons were fun though after a while repetitive. But they always set you up with some good partners for the night... and you knew who to avoid too. Monday's and Thursday's were good nights - Saturday's were when the "party bus" showed up and the place was a toe-crunching mad house (still fun in a sweaty kind of way). When I did peruse the bar, the drinks were tasty and boys often bought. But really I was just there to dance - the addiction and all. Cafe Cocomo, the most beautiful salsa shoes in the world and their owner miss you. We'll be suzy q'in around the mountain soon!
