Bruno's is great when you want to go out without having to go all out. The music is very danceble, the crowd is mostly groups of friends chatting and dancing (haven't seen too many lone rangers wandering around trying to creep), and I appreciate the lack of pretentiousness. The fact that there's no guestlist, a $10 cover (I know, cover charges are still lame but $20 really pisses me off - this isn't Vegas), and a fairly lenient dress code makes Bruno's a great place to go when you're already out and about and want to change it up with a place to dance.

We had exceptionally bad service at Rain, which probably impacted my take on the food. I had the massaman curry with tofu. It was decent, but I've certainly had better. I also had a tasty (but pricey!) mango martini. The ambiance and decor kinda weirded me out; I don't know why restaurants try to look like nightclubs in the first place, and even more so when, like Rain, they're located in a run-of-the-mill strip mall looking out over a parking lot. There are weird blue lights and cheesy little waterfall kind of things and it just comes across as strange. When our server brought out our food, he spilled my friend's drink into her dinner as he set it down. (It was her birthday, which made it even more unfortunate.) He did not replace her drink until we finally asked a bit later, and the drink was not on the house as I think it should have been. (Furthermore, the replacement drink was served in a chipped martini glass, and we couldn't help but wonder if it was intentional.) While my friend's meal was being replaced, the rest of us were left with dishes getting cold as we obviously did not want to start eating while our friend waited. When a different server came to collect our plates, I asked for a box to take the remaining portion (at least half of the dish) home. Apparently they did not want to give me one as they simply cleared the plate and stacked my friends' dishes on top of it. I generally get two meals out of a dinner out at a Thai restaurant and was annoyed that I was not given a box to take my leftovers home. I also really, really hate wasting food. The food here was decent, but I have had better Thai food in Atlanta and much better service. I will not be back and would encourage you to go elsewhere.

It was definitely an unique experience for me, but a good one. We came here for a friend's birthday. The beds are very comfortable and the entertainment was, well, entertaining - we saw the blue bunny on rollerskates and the girl on the trapeze. The food was the highlight of the night for me (as it usually is). The carrot ginger soup was amazing despite the fact that we ate it out of dog food bowls. The main (vegetarian) dish had perfectly prepared tofu (I thought it was a souffle at first!). And the dessert (chocolate cake thing) was delicious! The food is a good reason to come back.
