by Isaac Epley on Warning! If you're not wearing pants (e.g. you're wearing a skirt), they won't let you go down the slide. As my friend said, "The whole point of the slide is for the girls. Who wants to see a bunch of dudes go down a slide?" Lame. Otherwise, Slide can be pretty fun -- they play good music, the drinks are decent, and the number of people is good for a club in SF (not too crowded, but not too sparse either). One memorable moment I had there: my friend and I lost our jackets, and when we went to the lost and found, the staff member asked, "What designers were they?" Really? Uh... mine was from Zara?
by Gabriel Berryman on Dear Webster Hall, I tried to give you a couple chances, really I did, but it just didn't work out. For a club that overstuffs itself with an obnoxious Guido-esque crowd, has meathead bouncers that feel you up, lines that include a 30+ minute wait for a drink, the bathroom, coat check, etc., and overly expensive & weak well drinks, I don't understand why this place has three stars on rateclubs. It's true that they do book some good shows, but after having bad experiences at two shows I was really excited for (Justice on Halloween and MSTRKRFT on New Years Eve), I don't think I would ever go back, even for a band that I love. Bummer.
