by Ruben L. on Being a fan of live music, this may be why I like this place so much. No matter what night of the week, you can stroll into this place, and listen to some tunes. Not to mention they have great happy hour prices and on certain nights, just damn inexpensive beer. Heck I was there on Monday, and Shiner Bock & Bud Lites were just $1.50 a piece all night. I haven't been on a Wednesday night in quite some time, but I've had some good times there. PLus in the weeks leading to Bocktober Fest, they have had a battle of the bands competition every Wednesday night, and the winner would play at Bocktober Fest in Shiner. I've read from others that have had bad service here, but me personally, I haven't had any problems with bartenders or waitresses. I also like that they have it separated into 4 major sections, and if you're into playing darts, pool, fooseball, or arcade games, its nice that they have them on their own section. As far as mixed drinks, I can't really say to much on thoes, never really ordered them from here. Well there ya have it folks. Now go get ya a beer and jam out to some live tunes.
by Duane Tomassi on Shine is a homey bar lacking pretense. Its bartenders are friendly, serve decent pours, and Shine has enough space to accommodate bootie shaking, grinding or getting your monkey funky. There's even a nice loungy area with couches you can score if you get there early enough. Minor gripes include lack of a coat check, and lack of a lock on the men's bathroom - but I suppose the novelty of its one-way mirror will distract you as dudes walk in, watch you pee, and walk out to wait their turn.
