by Myron K. on here's how far Boston has fallen: we're reduced to shittholes like the Estate, where you can show up, pay $20 for a shitty sound-system and over-priced drinks, and listen to douchebags like tommy fucking sunshine whose only claim to fame is his gnarly unwashed hipster beard (he'll never come close to Rick Rubin!) and the fact that he used to show up at the Misshapes and play brit-pop off his MacBook... Someone needs to rebuild Avalon! I walked out of a Ferry Corsten show there 'cuz the sound was so awful! If we keep subjecting world-class DJ's to this place, they'll never come back to boston, even if we do eventually get another real club :(
by Dakota Secondo on Went here for a girlfriend's birthday. If it wasn't her birthday I wouldn't have gone for I HATE SALSA. So I will admit that I am a little bit biased. The music was okay. I don't discriminate. I was kinda feelin it since it was live and live music is usually great. I was a bit put off though at the front of the club when my friend was turned down for wearing converse sneakers. I find places that turn down people for their shoes or attire pretty lame. My friend is an attorney and does not feel the need to look flashy for others. So he left. The place just isn't great. The drinks were freakin STRONG though. TWO STARS!
