After one too many happy hours at the same old places (enough trips to Yard House to have drank my way through every beer offered, enough afternoons at Bodega to have memorized the HH menu long ago...), my friend and I decided it was time for a change. And a quest. Our goal: to try and rate every happy hour in Pasadena. Margarita Jones was stop number one. Happy Hour runs from 4-7. I met my friend inside the bar area. The high bar tables and stools just weren't cutting it in the comfort area (it's happy hour; I need to lounge), It was a beautiful day outside, so we decided to chill on the patio. After we swatted our way through some flies...eww...we settled at a table. And waited....and waited....After wondering what it takes to get a margarita in this place, our server appeared and took our order. Strawberry margarita for me, regular for my friend. I asked what the deal with the happy hour was and our server told us to help ourselves to the free appetizers laid out inside the bar area. We headed inside and loaded our plates with chips and salsa, chimichangas, nachos, and quesadillas. So after chowing and gulping down, what's the final conclusion? Margis, good and cheap ($4.25-$4.50). Free appetizers were just that. Free. Which is good if you don't mind feeling guilty for the amount of tasty fried food you just ate. Service, friendly but absent. Lots of free parking, which is fantastic, except that construction on Arroyo makes getting into the parking lot nearly impossible. Atmosphere was below average due to flies, noisy cars cruising by, and the annoying people sitting next to us. The pursuit of the perfect happy hour continues...

I thought the club was alright. Theres a lot of rooms and space to walk around. I do agree that the bouncers are dicks at times. Rico's rating: cool factor: **** quality of cocktails: ***
