My friend Cydney ( http://www.myspace.com...) was playing a gig at this place tonight and when I found out that it was all the way downtown, I thought, 'ug.' But being the rateclubser that I am, I decided to do some research and since every review was overwhelmingly positive I was persuaded to haul my ass down there. Cyd's style is "Alternative Mountain Music" so it was interesting to hear some serious jazz playing when I arrived. These guys were a group out of New York and were NO JOKE ( http://www.myspace.com...). The point is, it was a very interesting mix--o-music. Great interior, chill vibe, very hot bartender chicks (sorry, "mixologists") that make a great drink that doesn't cost a fortune. But wait, there's more! I discovered that they have a kitchen at Bordello (I guess the fact that it used to be a Mexican restaurant hadn't really sunk in). Someone was nice enough to let me try his fries and next thing he knew I was bogarting the whole plate. Damn good fries.
