by Merri L. on I went here last sunday for the first time for the opening of lush t dance. Reading the reviews, there i guess, are usually 2 levels. There was only one open for this event, which was upstairs. there are a bunch of tables and chairs along the left side when you walk in, in a sectioned off area. then there are loungey areas along the sides of the dancefloor. its not too big. and of course a bar. it's just really pretty in there.... it wasnt crowded when i was there but i can see it would get packed. i liked the space and the area and the decor, so id go again. Oh, and cover was $10.
by Shayne Lastra on I could go either way on this review so I suppose I am playing it safe by giving it three stars right about in the middle. Here is one side of the coin: a spectacular "extreme makeover" to the interior space of the former 1150 Nightclub including rich woods, carpeting, chandeliers, and supreme sound system. This makes for one heck of a sexy club, dripping with style. A sophisticated feel to the club makes me think of LA or New York, and with that comes the other side of the coin: I paid $20 to get in. I paid $5 for a domestic beer, I was not allowed anywhere near the second level because I was not a "VIP". I would have had to have waited on a long line to get in (when the club was not anywhere near capacity) but luckily my wing man knew the door guy and we skirted the line, but even so we still had to fork over $20 bucks to get in. Some friend huh? I was told and was somehow encouraged to feel better about the twenty bucks because the cover was actually going to $40 for the "regular folk" on line. Hmmmm. They can probably get away with this for a few months, but when the buzz wears off I think the cover will come down a bit. Inside the crowd seemed to be having fun and was very similar if not identical to the old Saturday crowd at Vision. Take that for what it is either a positive or a negative depending on your taste and definition for a fun night out. Personally, I finished my pricey beer and headed out the nearest exit to check out the cover band at Front Page News across the street. Everyone was having fun in there too, but somehow I felt the fun in there was more genuine in a way, and gosh I was allowed in for zero dollars at the door, and couldn't even find a "VIP" anywhere.
