by Jamaal Paavola on How could I visit Austin and not check out Amy's Ice Cream? My ice cream loving, ex-Austin living friend swears by Amy's. So we headed there for brunch. Move over Ben & Jerry's, there's a new, high butterfat content ice cream in town. I went with a scoop of dark chocolate and a scoop of the brandy alexander. Apparently there's always one offering of an alcohol-based flavor and wow, I could taste the brandy in that flavor. I wish I could experience Amy's regularly...Actually my waistline is thankful that there's not one in SoCal.
by Christopher T. on Awful place in chelsea, that claims to be chic and hip in northern meatpacking district. I went here because they were offering 1k points on opentable, always a big sign. Though i always go for them so that i can get my gift certificates faster. The only nice thing about this place is the entry and then the candles all up on the wall. I think in the entire dining room there were maybe 3 tables sat, and it was so so quiet. It was a thurday, but you could've heard the mouse screach across the kitchen floor -- needed some more patrons and music. I dont have really anything good about this place other than the attentive and friendly staff. Though with only 5 people in the whole restaurant..can you really mess up service?
