Mmmm mmmm gewd! Needed something for lunch, fast and delicious and of course it had to be something new. Gotta make sure I've earned that shiny elite badge and all. The menu here is hard to take in. Besides there being a ton of choices that all sound yummy, it's written on chalkboards mounted on the ceiling and written in light colored chalk. And you're distracted by the delicious pastries on display in the counter. But other than that... We each got the sandwich and soup combo for lunch. She had the Union Square with clam chowder, I got the Santa Fe and French onion soup. She had the better sandwich but my soup was really damn good. Like, drain the bowl and got her to admit that "I like that and I don't normally like onion soup." And a cherry croissant beforehand since you should have dessert first. The interior and the music are a little weird and there was just one poor kid working the front, taking orders, bussing the tables and running out the food. Once he had everyone served he got his grub on like there was no tomorrow. But definitely worth returning for, good food, good price and wifi.

This place has gone down hill since the remodel. Less and less techno, their original core clientel, the ones that helped them move to the new facility. The bouncers are horrible, come on guys you let anyone in, the line gets tight and pushy. "free well" drinks yeah I guess well drinks means only rum and vodka, wait what huh? Well means un called liqour you want to offer only free cheap vodka and rum say free cheap vodka and rum.

Every single time I go to the Middlesex, I have an amazing time. It's small, quaint, has an eclectic mix of people, and some of the best music I've ever heard at a bar. That's really what keeps me coming back for more... Then why just give it three stars you ask? Well, if you arrive any time after 10pm, which many of us do, expect at least a 20 minute wait outside. The line is pretty ridiculous and the bouncers love to build up the anticipation of fun inside by making people wait when there isn't even many people inside. They only have two single bathrooms as well, so there is always a line for those too. A huge plus is again, the music. I have been there numerous times and every single time they play great music. A little bit of hip hop, but mostly chill, relaxed music that still makes you want to dance...and dance I do. The furniture there is all on wheels, so you can push the tables and couches around to make space to dance. The drinks are strong, the people are cool, the boys are nice looking, and it's an overall fun time. But I guess anywhere is when you've had a few too many...
