Okay at one point in time I would have never admitted to going anywhere near this place. But then you grow the hell up and realize that sometimes hanging out with pretentious drunkards limits your social scene a little too much. After being forced into coming to the Minna, by my then new boyfriend now sidekick extraordinaire. I discovered that I do indeed actually really enjoy this place most of the time. The owner is awesome, as proven after I made a total drunken idiot of myself at the Christmas party and was comforted by the knowledge that he himself shared with me the next week that in fact he was the drunkest person at the party and he had bested me by breaking things. We had a good laugh over our beers and he has always been a kind face in any crowd I see him in. The staff rocks ass....everyone from the door guys to the coat check. The art is always interesting and something worth checking out. The crowds can be mind numbingly boring and sometimes super "wannabe Ghetto" however which is the one draw back to Minna but there are lots of other really cool entertaining things going on here to distract you from that. So ignore the crowds unless they are your friends and enjoy the art and its bar.

I absolutely love this restaurant and bar. The scene is fantastic. The bar and the restaurant were both crowded with stylish ITPers. The layout and ambiance are great as well. The menu has some vegetarian options. The food was very good and prepared well. The french fries and calamari are excellent. The wine list is also very goo - wide variety and wide price range. I don't recommend the dessert cheeses - some people probably love them, but no one in my group did. I'd love to go back and try the wine pairing and bottomless glass deal. . .
