by Jessica M. on I've been here a couple of times and I tend to prefer it on the slower nights. I'm not into dancing so I'm sure that is a big part of it. The drinks aren't as expensive as you'd think and a few of their signature drinks are quite good. I believe I had a whiskey one and one that had some sort of 10 cane rum. Bartenders were super friendly and quickly attended to customers the last time I was there. They seem to make a lot of mojitos, as that is what 90% of what people were ordering. My favorite thing from that night was watching one of the bartenders muddle the shit out of some mint and lime with this huge fake grin on his face and saying "THIS IS MY FAVORITE DRINK TO MAKE." I like this place sometimes. It can be a chill place to grab a drink or two even though it really isn't my scene. Sometimes it comes off as if it is trying to hard, if that makes any sense.
by Bailey Peppel on The first time I went, I had a really good time. I think I must include the fact that I didn't pay to get in. If I did, I probably wouldn't have had as much fun because it was semi empty. I didn't drink that night but I probably should have. Fridays are called "bartop fridays" at Rouge and girls dance on top of the bar. Duh. I dared to be different. I danced on top of a table. And I only did it because someone said they'd buy me a bowl of pho if I did it. For the love of pho, I did it. Then I almost got kicked out. The second time I went, I didn't have as much fun. It was more packed but I felt like the music sucked. It's so small in here that it's hard for girls to run away from creepy drunk men that won't stop grabbing you. Fear not ladies, that's what the security guards are for. Use them wisely.
