by Sigrid Stasinos on Ya went here last night for NYE.....NEVER AGAIN!!!! We had this great idea of only spending $40 per person and having open bar. Plus the website stated that you will then by pass the line to get in. LIES ALL LIES!!!! We get there at 10pm, take a look at the picture I tagged, thats where we were standing, you'll notice that you can't see the door, why, that's because the line is around the corner. Oh so we finally get to the front of the line at 11:30pm. To stand in another line to get searched, to go inside, stand in another line to check our coats, to push our way to a bar, to stand 4 people deep in line to get "free" drink. Which the booze was watered down, my vodka oj was great tasting oj......Oh did mention that inside there was so many people packed in there that it was like a mosh pit of stilleto heels and popped-collared guys? Oh and what's with the 3 person stall bathroom?? IDK about the guys bathroom, but the womens was packed with girls in line to pee and girls in line to puke in the sink......stay classy :P So all in all, we weren't drunk, I honestly think that if you rung out my dress, there would be more booze in that then my drink, I got so many drinks spilt on me that night! It sucked, will NEVER come back!!!!
by Isadora Ziehm on So I met up with some friends at FLIP last Friday night in a brain-fried work haze. The traffic on 10th was horrendous, as I expected. I was so late, I wanted to scream, but luckily, the waiter brought me a 420 to ease my traffic nerves. Because I already had stuffed my face with red meat at lunch, I decided it would be best not to put my stomach through that again on the same day. Luckily, FLIP's menu offers an array of meats in its burgers, including pork, shrimp, lamb, codfish and turkey. I chose the po boyger--a shrimp patty thingy with "old bay mayo" (whatever that is), lettuce, fried lemon and Tabasco. I was pleased with the fresh, lemony sensations, along with the size of the entree. Usually, I'll eat a whole burger, no matter the size, unable to stand once I'm through. However, FLIP's burgers definitely aren't contributing to the obesity problem in America... I was disappointed that the $8.5 sandwich didn't come with a side; I sampled my friend's sweet potato tots (a little too sweet for me) and another friend's fries, which tasted like sour cream and onion chips. If I were hungrier, I would have ordered more of those. We also split a milkshake--the Krispy Kreme. I would've preferred to try the Sweet Tea flavor, but I already was about to burst and went along with it. The $7 glass of goodness tasted like a glazed doughnut, I admit. Kind of sickening. What bothered me is that I only took one sip of the milkshake and didn't even order it. One of my friends did. The waiter put the shake on my check, though--$7 for one sip of nauseating doughnut chunks? Other than that, the service was fast and excellent. I want to go back to try a beef burger and scarf a full serving of those tasty fries.
