by Marc Cumming on It's all about the bus... The space itself has two rooms--one smaller with an upstairs balcony and one giant with a stage. There are two bars in the big room and one bar in the small room. I love places that have more than one bar--who wants to wait forever to get their drink?? The best part about Mighty is when they have the bus out front. You walk outside to the smoking area and theres a giant old bus that has been converted into a party bus. There is usually a DJ spinning in there and people are dancing and smoking and having a good time. You aren't outside freezing your ass off and it's just cool partying in a bus. One time the bus was playing drum and bass and everyone was jumping up and down and hitting the roof to the beat. Recently, I was here for NYE and it was one of the best parties I have been to in awhile. We stayed out until 4am. The drinks were strong and the music was good. Mighty usually has a good looking crowd when we go too--maybe it depends on who is throwing the party though. We went for the Seismic 007 party ( http://www.seismicsf.org). EDITED: I wanted to add that the step in the middle of the room SUCKS ASS. I've been to Mighty so many times now and I STILL eat shit on that step. Can't they fix that??
