by Bill B. on A pretty cool venue to hang out with friends, and you can't beat the prices. Long happy hours, including all-day Monday, boast $1 PBR and $2 wells. Granted, they're not enormous, but for $2 you can afford to double-fist. Repeatedly. The pool table has a surprisingly generous amount of space around it, unlike the shuffleboard table, which crowds the bar a bit. Out back is a wonderful patio area, perfect for large groups or perhaps a band. It's walking distance to 24th/Mission BART, so this bar seems like a solid place to meet friends for an evening.
by Irma Sylvan on Cheap drinks, friendly waitstaff (who are liable to pour you one on the house if you spend a few hours there), & an unbeatable atmosphere which is made only richer by the fact that Ike & Tina allegedly played a show there once & brought the house down. As an added bonus, they're open to hosting the occasional art or photo show in their back room. I'm not a connoisseur of Ethiopian food, but Waziema's veggie combo has never let me down.
