Thursday night @ playhouse. The crowd was tacky.  Hardly anything worth coming out for. The doormen and promoters were oh so pretencious. This was one of the lamest venue and events I've been to in LA. Btw...so many groups of people came by and said they were on a guestlist of various promoters and everyone was told that the staff was not aware of who these people are.  Looks like we have "fake guestlists" to solicite people to come and only realize that they had to pay.  So sad.  So lame.

Now I can't say this is a fair review as I was feeling crumby the night we went... The parking was valet that night, which I am not a fan of, don't ask me why.. but I found my own parking in the lot while the valet wasn't looking!  He was nice though when we came back out. The service was quick and the atmosphere was retro and cool.  We got a seat even on a busy night.  So many yummy things on the menu.  My food was good, almost great.  They give you a decent size portion and complimentary chips and salsa...the salsa will clear your sinuses..could be good, could be bad. I wouldn't go on a first date as it is very loud, perhaps closer seating at the bar may be better suited for a date. It was a little pricey, the food was okay.. I'd like to go again and try the tacos and margaritas to make a good judgement call however...

The new location of this club and new layout make this place better than the old location in downtown buckhead.. Better & safer in my opnion also less police and riff raff hanging around outside, you wont get shot by some disgruntled member of Young Jeezy's crew outside this place. Came here on a Saturday night, the Asian door guy was very friendly and took care of my party, he also had told me it was too late to get in on the guest list and was very apolgetic that we had to pay 20 bucks each to get in this place. The decor and renovations done on this new space are terrific, seems more like a upscale apartment than the typical crappy nightclub exterior. Coming from NYC, I was impressed with these aspects of the club, the fact this place is clean and there is no douche bag door guys gets a thumbs up from me. The downside here(there are a few) is the music was terrible, felt as though I was listening to a terrible top 40 station that only played lady Gaga/Britney Spears and some other terrible pop music songs. The lacking of either HipHop & House music is a real downside for me. Maybe if I was 17 and trying to pick up a girl who just had her sweet 16 @ a Highschool dance or if I was looking to put on lip gloss and pick up guys Id enjoy hearing this Top Mix, could be this was a off night and the DJ was terrible. The circle bar in the middle of the main room is super cool, the bartenders here were very friendly and made a damn strong drink. Couple of Patrons later and the music seemed to drown out in the background while a few legions of slutty Southern girls showed up. Crowd here is very diverse, a nice mix where everyone seemed to be getting along and having a good time. The dancer on this particular night below the DJ booth was horrible, she looked like whitney Houston cracked out at the age of 22, not very hot and danced weird. Than some Israeli Harvey Milk started prancing around on the block as well, what a fool. Once these two cut there poor act, the place picked up a bit. The side house music room seems to be a mini club within a club. Better music, but way weirder people. Some fat meatball bumped into me on purpose because his wife was staring at me ( I didnt even notice this unfold) but was tempted to give this clown a muay thai kick to the liver, the crowd was surrounding the bar(shocker) but werent even ordering drinks and it was like walking down Bourbon Street during Mardi Gras trying to get to the bar to order a drink. Disgusted went back to the other side of the club in the main and checked out the 2nd floor. The too floor of this place has a large bar, about 6 banquet tables (for bottle service) and a unisex bathroom(huge buyer of the restroom situation). Managed to hit on a few broads in the bathroom line and also got to survey the crowd dancing and crowding the bar on the main floor from owl perch on the second floor. The waitresses here(hot and scantily clad) were numerous and each were worthy of being first string quarterbacks. Except for this one scare crow looking lady who was about 50, prancing around thinking she is still 25 and hot. I'd definitely come back next time I'm in Atlanta, outside of the music, i like this place and think when filled with the right talent pool it would be quite a good scene. Worst case, have a few drinks, grab a few numbers than head to the Pony for some afterhours. After that you better be slaying some broad in your rental or slamming quesadilla's while laughing at Leroy in a old School Chevy from the drive thru window at Taco Cabana.
