by Antone Grills on Like my good friend Eric S, I also had an epic show experience here, though the facemelting was more likely due to the intoxicants imbibed at the large-and-somewhat-bizarre bar across the street before the show. we saw Air back in '97 or '98, and they actually took photos of us from the stage. thats about the only detail i recall. update: just to show off, i'll now admit that i saw the white stripes here, and yes, it was before they were "big". some drunkass friend of a friend told me to go see them. i rarely listen to anyone's "advice" when it comes to music, but this was a show worth attending. my friend jeff was not allowed to leave the back of the room - the bouncer ordered him to keep his back straight against the wall or he'd be kicked out. it was bastille day, after all - c'mon, even the mayo twins deserve breaks every once in a while.
