by Manual Padeken on I first started going here 3 years ago for the Indian, Arabic, and Salsa night (do they even have that anymore? I think it's strictly Salsa night now). The tiny Salsa "room" was bangin' and I got my groove on with as many random people as I could...LOL. The larger dance room had a band that was playing some kick-ass Indian and Arabic beats. I belly-danced (like a fool!) for a minute but soon realized that not too many people were feeling the music and as much as I love my Middle Eastern men, there were NO hot guys this night - just old men with octopus hands....euww... Nowadays, I usually come on Russian techno night even though it is social suicide (I'm 5'10" and Russian men tend to prefer their women "bite-sized"). I used to love most of the DJ's they booked, but as of late they have been booking shitty-ass DJ's who play POP-py music (read: poopy music). At least I get to practice my Russian. Also, the vodka shots are pretty cheap on this night (is somebody stereotyping?) At any rate, this place has a nice outdoor patio. I won't rip on the crowd that comes here, but I will say that sometimes they seem a little immature (or perhaps I'm getting old...?) It's $20 big ones to get in unless you wear white (Russian night only) or you finagle your way with the bouncers (they're pushed over pretty easily). Yeah...3 stars...
