I have been here twice. The first time it was late, we sat inside, i was like BLAH. ok food, boring atmosphere. The second time I went with a friend and we sat in the garden on one of the coldest days of the year. WOW. So beautiful. The white lights, and every bit of the decor was just gorgeous. As another reviewer noted, the mussels are probably the best thing on the menu. The rest is just ok, although I plan to go back and try more things. And definitely sit in the garden. It was funny b/c the place was empty, considering the size. I guess it was a be seen place many years ago. I'd actually like to go back on a Saturday and experience the club part. I generally stay away from clubs b/c of the annoying people and lines, but if you're ever in the mood for a nite out without the annoying crowds, this place might do the trick.. The only downside was that sitting in the beautiful garden, under those heaters made me miss summer SO much. Fantastic place.

I first heard about Mezzanine when I bought a ticket for the Alice Radio Green Christmas concert. Alice picked the perfect spot for this special show. From the get go, staff kindly redirected me to the proper area to pick up my Will Call ticket. Everyone I met there was friendly, you could feel the good vibe in the air. Space itself is cosily comfortable - a small-mid-size space with high wood beamed ceilings and a sun roof. It's kinda cool to look up during the concert and see a different perspective of the band, especially if you're short like me and have difficulty seeing past most (you get used to focusing through one eye between people's heads.) There is a 2nd tier, but only VIP-ers are permitted. Sound quality is fantastic, and you can get really close to the performers too. It's conveniently located near Powell BART/Muni Station and 5th+Mission Street Parking Garage. They have coat check which makes going from work to a show super easy. My current *favorite* concert space. Hope to catch more shows here and good vibes.

I understand the stress of being a bouncer, especially at a place next door to the original B&T Club, but what is the deal with the salty attitude? One of the joys of being a girl is that you don't have to worry about getting into places but the boy I was supposed to meet inside got the guest list Heisman. Yes Nivi B, this apparently IS Bangalore. The crowd is not bad but there is a real lack of positive attitude with the staff. If I am forced to throw down more cash then I would like to admit for a cocktail I would like something other than a scowl from the server. I am giving two stars b/c I like the light fixtures, the wall in the women's bathroom is kind of cool, and the idea of a slide is fun even though it looks like a death trap.
