by Jen B. on There are things you need to do and see before you die and the Clermont Lounge is certainly one of them! Nothing could be more fun and tasteless than this place! Sit at the u shaped bar under the blacklight watching the, um...girls and drinking PBR (stick with beer and shots here). Wait for Blondie. She's worth it! Go on a holiday and you'll get a tearful poetry reading from the topless, golden goddess. She loves you like family. John Waters (if he hasn't already) would definitely approve! Go on a Tuesday for the truly tasteless experience. Jett and the gang give you the opportunity to belt out your favorite song while the, um...girls, uh...dance to it. Stay away on Saturdays. They charge a cover and it's packed.

It's huge and empty like a warehouse but then puts in trendy furniture so it looks like someone just moved in and hasn't bought anything to fill it yet rather than a real minimalist warehouse look. The crowd is a weird blend of hipsters, FiDi frat boy graduates, bopping Asian chicks, you name it. Definitely a kick to sit back and watch. Definitely a pick up scene. The guys are all checking out the girls. The girls are all checking out the guys. The guys are aggressively hitting on and chasing the girls around the floor (or maybe it's just my friend Colleen this happens to). Not sure going to happy hour at a club where the bass gets turned at up 6 so that your butt is vibrating is my thing though. Be prepared to shout. Apparently Wed night is the time to go.
