by Darell Seekins on I have been here twice. The first time it was late, we sat inside, i was like BLAH. ok food, boring atmosphere. The second time I went with a friend and we sat in the garden on one of the coldest days of the year. WOW. So beautiful. The white lights, and every bit of the decor was just gorgeous. As another reviewer noted, the mussels are probably the best thing on the menu. The rest is just ok, although I plan to go back and try more things. And definitely sit in the garden. It was funny b/c the place was empty, considering the size. I guess it was a be seen place many years ago. I'd actually like to go back on a Saturday and experience the club part. I generally stay away from clubs b/c of the annoying people and lines, but if you're ever in the mood for a nite out without the annoying crowds, this place might do the trick.. The only downside was that sitting in the beautiful garden, under those heaters made me miss summer SO much. Fantastic place.
by Walter Ladakakos on Oh no they didn't! Friend and I decided to hit Cielo last minute on a Friday night. Get to the door and there were no cuties in sight - looked all scary B&T. First sign all may not be well. We get ushered in fast through VIP and are knocked back by the heavy bass the DJ is throwing. Okay cool, I can still swerve to that. Belly up to the bar for the first round of two cocktails. $27. Go back a bit later and same two drinks are now $30, from the same bartender. Go back again, now it is $32, same drinks, different bartender. Back a fourth time and it has jumped to $35, same drinks, first bartender. Are you kidding?! So, gross crowd and bartenders ripping us off - um, won't be going back here.

So we were stamped with a big ink blob which didn't dry for a half hour on our wrist only to head into the club and find that the smell of cat pee was everywhere in the hallway. It smelled nasty. It was about 9, 10ish and the place was DEAD. We left, then later came back only to come in and realize the smell was gone (I really wonder how they did that too). And that the music had become so loud and the bass so strong that I felt physically ill. I was sober too, so there was no reason for it. The music itself sucked. I like Techno, but not when it's crap I wouldn't listen to on my best day.
