by Broderick Vik on I have to to agree with Mindy's review below- My experience was pretty much dead on with hers. I went Friday for Restaurant week lunch. I loved the decor and ambiance. The barternder was very entertaining as our group of 8 waiting at the bar for our table. We started with pitchers of the Lemonana (can't remember the exact name)- Typically made with bourbon, half of us opted to have it made with Rum instead which was much better- was like a mojito/lemonade- I'm not a fan of bourbon so I am biased- the others seemed to like it. I was also very impressed with the fresh ingredients that were used for most of their original concoctions The hummus lived up to it's hype- It was my favorite part of the meal. In addition to that I had the sweet potato starter and the branzino for my entree. Both were good but didn't have me jumping out of my seat. The portions were very small- satisifying enough for me since there were 4 courses and we only paid $20- but If I was getting that for the regular prices, I don't know if I'd be that satisfied. Overall we had a nice experience at Zahav- it won't be added to the top of my list but I could definitely go back if with a friend or even for some hummus and drinks at the bar
by Miwako H. on And on the third day of computer training, I became re-certified. I met some people at Rosa's Mexicano for dinner. I ate here two years ago and thought at the time the food was fine but pricey. Some things never change. The guacamole was delicious, as always. I prefer spicy and it didn't disappoint. The tomatillo sauce was flavorful without that oh-my-god-what-have-i-done feeling. For dinner I had the tacos Rancheras. They were good. Our server was nice and never pushy. Our drinks were always full and as she asked for our IDs, she never treated us like we didn't deserve to be dining there. The price is not something to sing about. It's expensive to eat here. But it is a good place to take a date, and the margaritas (I had La Clasica) are strong. Much needed after three days of training. All types of credit cards accepted as well as cash.
