by Bernetta Cozzolino on It was just one of those evenings. We started at Bourbon and Branch for a birthday party and birthday girl decides she wants to go to Vessel. It has been years since I've actually stepped foot into a night club in San Francisco. Not because of a miscast elitism, but because it's starting to take me longer to shake a hangover. Plus, add hours of bass thumping against my temporal lobe mixed with alcohol flurries and VOILA - it's all Sunday in bed time. I digress. Needless to say, Vessel was pretty nice. We broke through the rope and made our way downstairs. Danced, drank, got handed thick paper towels at the restroom sink by a very gracious immigrant. So I'm talking to a friend (well, we were screaming to each other over the UMPH-TSSS-UMPH-TSSS-UMPH-TSSS) when we noticed that we were coughing in between sentences. I stopped. He stopped. He says, "feel that?" as he touches his throat. "Yeah." Right when I confirmed, a horde of people began coughing and holding there mouths with cupped hands. "Oh great" I thought "terrorist attack." Turns out someone lit off some pepper spray and it permeated throughout the club. We grabbed the group and made the mass evacuation to fresh air. Not even worth it.
by Lanni A. on This was the first club I've ever been to since moving to the bay area. Needless to say it was disappointing. I went with my boyfriend and a friend and got there at around 1am so obviously the there was no line at all. Cover was $20/person and far too over priced for what you actually get. The club wasn't even that packed (we'd heard from a couple of regulars that it was one of their "slow nights"..ahuh). Anyway, the club looked nothing like the pictures on its website and the whole ambiance and decorations were not very thought out and planned. It was pretty bland. The crowd wasn't energetic and their gogo dancers didn't really know how to dance. I only had fun because I got to hangout with my boyfriend and old coworker who I hadn't seen in awhile. I wouldn't come back here..I think I'll ask around and find a better place to go next time.
