Surprised that this hasn't been rateclubsed yet... A place to dine with friends while taking in an outrageous burlesque show. The young owner, Simon Hammerstein of Circus fame, used thrift shop finds to create a funky, classic, theater interior. On a recent visit, it was an off night, filled with bridge and tunnel commuters. The midnight show still hadn't started after 1AM. I've found that it's best to get invited to a private party here. It gets packed during these parties, and the door is utter chaos, but a stellar crowd shows up, depending on the party. Or, you can make dinner reservations ($$$$) and max your plastic. Just note that the noise level makes conversation impossible.

Ah so here goes my 4:30 am drunken review of Vault. I always have an excellent time there.  Great vibe, great music, great design, great sound system. I end up at Vault once a month on Fridays for the monthly Blk Market Membership parties that Taimur and Fahad throw.  Good techno and house.  Taimur is one of my favorite NYC DJ's. Vault is what most NYC bars and clubs should aspire to be like: Nice crowd that appreciates good music, cool staff and interesting space.
