by Melissa H. on I've only been here for shows and I'm absolutely in love with the upstairs seating. I'm going to Motherfucker NYC/The Faint in a few weeks and I'm absolutely excited it's at Webster Hall. The drinks are expensive but that's the norm in most venues. Drink before hand and get your ass to the show. I can't say much for the club part but I know that when I was leaving Glassjaw in December.. I wouldn't really want to be caught dead with half of the people waiting in line to get into the club.
by Charlotte Holvey on I came here a while ago for the New Order after-party (with bassist Peter Hook on DJ duty). It's a striking Japanese-style space -- The low tables and seats made it easy to go from relaxing/being mellow to just standing up right there and dancing. I also thought the sound system was very good - clear and strong without being ridiculously loud. The crowd was diverse and gorgeous and (I agree with David S.) surprisingly nice and attitude-free given that they looked like Greek gods.
