I've only been here for shows and I'm absolutely in love with the upstairs seating. I'm going to Motherfucker NYC/The Faint in a few weeks and I'm absolutely excited it's at Webster Hall. The drinks are expensive but that's the norm in most venues. Drink before hand and get your ass to the show. I can't say much for the club part but I know that when I was leaving Glassjaw in December.. I wouldn't really want to be caught dead with half of the people waiting in line to get into the club.

"We were making love when you told me that you loved me I thought ol' cupid he was taking aim I was believer when you told me that you loved me And then you called me someone else's name" ---- Aerosmith: "Falling in love is hard on the knees" Shakespeare must have surely been joking when he said "Whats in a name?" since our name is our Identity, our personal brand, the lens through which we are perceived by the external world. So when I saw Todd E.'s quip "111 Minna Street --- Hmmmm, I wonder where they got the name?!?! I read a deeper meaning into it and decided to take a wide- angled view of 111 Minna spanning a larger time and space. Time Past: San Francisco is famous for its underground culture which revolves around Burning Man. However, for a newbie, it is not very easy to plug in to the scene. QOOL Happy Hour every Wed at 111 Minna is where lot of us got our first exposure to the potential of Burning Man. That itself is 2 stars. Time Present: I walk into 111 Minna and see all hotties from the Art Institute HH getting progressively drunk, broke and horny by the minute. By the time they start leaving(alone or with their lucky new friends), I watch a newer set of party people starting to dance to the beat of bhangra. Space Past: 111 Minna is located close to the financial district. It is a place where yuppies get their last shot at salvation. The space itself is incredible. 2 huge bars in a posh loft like space which also doubles as an art gallery. Space Present: Even though there were a lot of people at 111 Minna last evening, the layout is so good it just does not feel crowded excepting at the dance floor. Which is not really a bad thing as proximity and promiscuity often go hand in hand. The bartenders were overworked(and losing their QOOL sometimes) and the drinks were slightly pricey, but lets not sweat the small stuff esp. when we had such a good time.
