This is a great addition to the Allandale area! It's brings a bit of Vegas into the suburban Austin. Oh here come the nays: C'mon it is a recession and I don't have money to fly into McCarren to visit my grandma and bring her to a place like this so she can have soup and I can have 3 martinis! The food is great (Get the triple appetizer!). The atmosphere is festive. There are huge TV's so I can watch my Lakers play the Rockets. There is a open floorplan so that Houston lovers can give me the evil eye or the middle finger (depending on how good the purple and gold are doing). The drinks are strong to satisfy lovers of all teams and haters of all sports. The lighting is perfect! It makes everyone beautiful and the scene look like it is so undercover-cool, even though its on such a busy street. What will prevent me from making this a regular place are the prices. Yikes. It makes up for it if you eat in for the majority of your meals except for that weekly splurge. Finally, I wrote on my server's receipt that I would rateclubs him. We are 100% sure his name is Dave because on the receipt he mentions "Super Dave". And he is super. Totally courteous, anticipating the drink refills, taking our plates at just the right time. Indulging my need to hear the dessert menu even though I told him I just wanted to know for next time. Ask for Super Daves section and share the tip love! you won't regret it.

This place is on the down, they're financially loosing money and you can see it with the crowd that they let in. I remember when this venue used to keep out all the trash and the rope was only dropped for me and my hottie girls. If you go in there now it is pretty tragic and so cramped that you can hardly move around whatsoever. The music is pretty good, but it is hit or miss. I wouldn't suggest going here unless youre getting in for free and past the NJ transit line like i do, i only go now if im in 2 block radius and need a drink without a hassle. The nightlife scene has shifted over to Nolita and Soho area over the last two months if you havent noticed Goldbar, 205, The Box, RoseBar, etc -- its slowly leaving the meatpacking.
